Gallow Hill Much of the land in this part of the county was part of the Umfraville barony based at Prudhoe Castle and it is said that the lord of the manor erected gallows here in a prominent position overlooking much of the lower parish lands around Ovingham and Prudhoe designed to deter wrongdoers. The country road just beyond the hill is still known as Gallowhill Lane. The kink in the field boundary to the left, and the lone tree now in the middle of an enlarged arable field are on the line of the parish boundary.
Prudhoe Castle Mill. This is the mill for the castle. When operational the mill brought in important revenue to the estate as all the local farmers used the mill. The mill pond is to the right behind the bridge.
