"The staff were superb and couldn’t have done enough to help in so many ways - from Check-in to helping us with an early breakfast as we had to leave earlier than their normal hours on a Sunday. Our room on the top floor had beautiful views and lunch outside in the sun on the terrace was fabulous. Our only disappointment was that the bar food on a Saturday evening was poor - I am sure had we eaten in the restaurant it would have been fine but perhaps a different chef does the bar food - some was dry and overcooked and the fish and chips were soggy and disappointing. We should have said more at the time but were too polite. The spa was busy but nice, we didn’t spend much time in there as it was too crowded but that’s not anyone’s fault and is to be expected. We would go back for the quality of the staff alone. "

"Stayed for 1 night. On arrival was greeted by having to shout to the reception staff as the function room was right next door with a wedding and loud music. States free breakfast on Expedia however, the hotel does not provide any breakfast. This was one of the main reasons for booking this hotel. Walked to the room through dated corridors up and down numerous steps. Corridors smelt "old" The room.....well where to start?....entry light to the room flickered on and off and if you wanted the main lights on this could not be turned off. Mould on the walls, mould around the windows, curtains thin, hanging off the rail and covered in paint, one plug socket a plug wouldn't go in fully and made an electrical fizz sound. Paint work shoddy and must have been completed by a child. The room sloped down. Bathroom.....loose sink, out of hand soap and the shower would not get warm even after playing with the controls for 10 minutes. On the plus side the kettle and WiFi worked. In need of a serious health and safety review and major update or just flattening."

"The apartment was perfect for us. The access info was given to us days ahead of time. It was clean and spacious and it was nice to relax and watch a movie on a TV that worked. We would definitely recommend this lovely apartment."

"It was an amazing stay. Really enjoyed staying at Matties Loft. Accommodation included all the facilities you would standardly require and more on a trip and was super clean. Host was really great and friendly, we felt welcomed. Should mention that our dog also really enjoyed the trip also as we took advantage of the lovely countryside walks and beautiful scenery. We would stay again :)"

"Very nice and welcoming. Great area and wonderful area. Host always replied quickly as well. Loved it and may come again. Only downer was there was no Netflix app to use and watch."

"Our stay at Josie’s Snug was so perfect and exactly what we were looking for/needed! Adam was really helpful with communicating up to our stay and Jenny could not do enough to make sure our stay was complete when we forgot a few bits! We took the train in and grabbed a taxi up which was no trouble. The additional touches of croissant and jam and bathrobes were very welcomed. The hot tub was incredible. The room was spacious with a very comfortable bed. And the lake - what can I say? It was the highlight of our trip - pristine water and grounds offering a refreshing swim on warm days. This is just the perfect getaway if you’re looking to switch off from city life. We will definitely be back again."

"The property is fairly spartan and is a bit overpriced if clean. It was not. The entryway smells of regurgitated beer and the blanket for the pull out sofa clearly bore evidence of a nocturnal accident. Overall not awful, but not nice, and certainly not worth the price. We only stayed one night and relocated to the Marriott which incidentally was about the same price and pristine. "
