This shot was taken from the beach on glorious winter morning showing the entrance to the harbour with the lighthouse on the cliff. Porthtowen can be very dramatic in the winter and surfing is popular.

In the next village to where I live (which is a seaside village with a popular surfing beach) there is a pool carved out next to 100 foot cliffs. At high tide the waves break over the end wall and refresh the water. It's pretty well hidden, so if you don't know it's there you might miss it. And yes, those are my toes.
Porthtowan Beach. Not many people on the beach on this hot Summer day. It is June however. The scene here in late July or August would be much more crowded. The landrover belongs to the beach lifeguards who are keeping a close eye on the surfers at this state of the tide (half out).
