This property is very old, it has great charm however it is outdated. The staff were very friendly however the resort needs updating badly. We have stayed here many years ago and decided to stay again dur to it's charm and location with wonderful views of the fall foliage. The resort has a full-length golf course that is challenging but also needs more attention. If you stay expect what you get.

My stay there was comfortable, and the staff was friendly and helpful. I was surprised that there was no elevator, as I had difficulty carrying my bags upstairs. Since food was available only at the main building, it would be convenient if your facility also offered sandwiches and soups.

There was an event going on and it ended at an appropriate time. I had no problem falling a sleep I didn’t hear any loud music. We always enjoy staying at Poland Springs Resort. We will be back!

This place is a surprise gem! Looking for a place to stay in the area and randomly lucked upon Poland Spring Resort! This place is crazy full of history, here are just a few examples: family graveyard on premises; free museum; nondenominational chapel built in 1912; an actual building from the Chicago World Fair in 1893 that was deconstructed and brought to the site by a whistlestop train tour and then reconstructed; the original spring for Poland Spring water that cured Hiram Ricker's indigestion in 1844, and that's just a few. The staff here are all friendly, welcoming, and clearly dedicated to this place. It seemed like there were "regulars," ie. families who return year after year. There's an open porch with huge columns and rocking chairs that overlooks the golf course and trout pond. There's a tall gazebo (on Saturday night a fancy sparkly group of teenagers gathered there to take pre-homecoming dance photos), an old gorgeous library on the third floor, an old swingset, a tennis court, bocce ball... I want to be perfectly clear. Poland Spring Resort is NOT glamorous and fancy. It's not a "resort" in the usual sense. But it is down to earth, inviting, and surprising, as well as super clean and well-maintained. And it does feel grand.
