Simone and Herbert were very helpful and nice. Online pictures are accurate. Accommodations are basic but very clean. Located in a nice residential area just a minute walk to a public beach on the seaside.

Solitude by the Caribbean

Simone and Herbert are perfect hosts: friendly, full of insight, and easily reachable, while allowing for privacy and space. The apartment is comfortable, with lots of windows, hot water, and space to breathe. It also has lots of birds, flowers, trees, and various wildlife right out the front door. Located in quiet Maya Beach, with the lagoon visible to the west and the Caribbean Sea just a short walk down a dirt road, this stay is one of the best I have ever had for resting and rejuvenating. Additionally, there are a handful of nearby resorts and restaurants if a meal out suits your fancy. For those seeking solitude interspersed with some local tourism, I fully recommend Captain Jak's for their knowledgeable and entertaining guides. Simbert's Apartments with Simone and Herbert is 5-Star all the way.

Simone ist super nett und hilfsbereit. Herbert haben wir leider nicht kennengelernt. Wunderschöner Garten mit Agoutis, Waschbären und vielen Vögeln. Sehr entspannt! Die Unterkunft ist liebevoll eingerichtet, gut ausgestattete Küche, alles da, was man braucht. Wir hatten eine tolle Zeit und können diesen schönen Ort nur weiter empfehlen.

Great setting in Maya Beach

Beautiful setting in the heart of Maya Beach, convenient short walking distance to restaurants, stores and the Caribbean. It's quiet with manicured yard chuck full of orchids and colorful plants. The lagoon is literally a few steps away and we enjoyed many stunning sunsets and a manatee or 2. Simone and Herbert are great folks and so very helpful. Simone coached us on visa documents and we would have been lost without her knowledge. The apt. has A/C, fan, consistent internet, kitchen (with misc. condiments), and comfortable bed. We will be back!

Wonderful little flat

We had a great experience here! The flat was well taken care of. The units were located in a beautifully decorated Belizean style garden. We didn't see Herbert in our few days there, but Simone was spectacular. She was extremely friendly and eager to give tips on where to go and what to do during our stay. They were great hosts!

The garden was beautiful and there were many birdsongs! However, the thin blanket and 1 pillow a piece, a large roach, and a house gecko kept my rating from being a 5. That being said, the place was clean, and it may be what can happen in the tropics! Also, Simone gave me an extra blanket and pillows as soon as I asked, and she was very friendly. We felt safe, the shower was good, and it was peaceful sleeping amidst the bird calls!!

Set in a quiet cul-de-sac, with mature trees for shade. Great restaurants, bars and supermarket nearby. Interesting wildlife easily observed. Any problems quickly resolved. Beer, pop truck to the door delivery every week. A/C and dehumidifier very effective it made the apartment very comfortable. Herbert and Simone very helpful. We would return again.

Basic Apartment Fabulous Hosts

Stayed at Simberts apartments and will say that Herbert is one of the nicest people I have met as a host. The accommodations are basic, location great. We did miss having a pool and AC but we knew we would not have that. Restaurants in the neighbourhood share their pool and furniture for the price of a beer. Wifi everywhere. All in all the price is great and very clean and the best host you could ever have. Thank you Herbert and Simone, as I said to you over a night with friends I called my place in Maya Beach home while I was there.

The apartment was exactly as I expected and matched the listing description. Owners Herb and Simone were very nice and welcoming and helped provide additional information I was looking for. Apartment was very clean and well furnished, quite spacious, and in a very good location; not in town but quite close enough. Public beach is quite close; within walking distance or a very short drive. I had a very nice stay there and would certainly stay there again and recommend it to others. Very reasonable price for the area without actually being in the center of Placencia.
