Frequently Asked Questions
Q: Is there direct ATV/snowmobile trail access? A: Yes. You can leave the cabin and access the trail system immediately from the property. For reference, snowmobile access connects to Moose Pond Road, approximately halfway between Back Lake Road and Trail #146.
Q: Can we leave trucks or trailers before check-in/ after check-out to ride for the day? A: Unfortunately, we cannot accommodate pre check-in/ post-checkout parking at the property due to the limited time our housekeeping team has for cleaning and property maintenance. Guests may use the designated parking area across from the trailhead on Back Lake Road, approximately 1.8 miles from Moose Pond Road.
Q: Is there a sandy beach on-site? A: Middle Pond is a natural trout pond with a vegetative shoreline rather than a sandy beach. For swimming, we recommend Philbrook Beach on Back Lake (2.4 miles away) or the beach at First Connecticut Lake (7 miles away).
Q: Are linens provided? A: Yes. Towels, linens, and basic kitchen essentials are provided. Guests should bring their own toiletries, hand soaps, and paper products.
Q: Is firewood included? A: Firewood and fire-starting materials are not included. Guests are welcome to use any supplies left by previous guests, and local vendors in town offer reasonably priced firewood if needed.

Lovely, well kept and exceptionally clean home. Quiet, beautiful and serene location. Perfect getaway for me and hubby. It was just what we wanted and needed. Highly recommend.
This was our second stay at this property. We love the area and this property is wonderful. We really enjoyed using the kayaks and the new paddle boat! The fire pit is great too! Will be back again but plan on staying longer next time.
The property itself was amazing. I wish we could of been warned that Moose Pond road was a dirt, rough road with lots of deep holes and large rocks to drive over. We enjoyed the pond, the quietness of the property though.
Great place to stay. Very quiet and peaceful. Easy trail access. Owner is always responsive to any questions and proactive to any needs that may arise. This is our third time staying and have another stay booked.
Overall this cabin was awesome, very clean, and great location to snowmobiling trails. We would definitely recommend this cabin to other friend and family. The one caveat was the road leading into the cabin has a tight hairpin which is difficult to navigate with large trailers.
We have stayed here multiple times and it has always exceeded expectations. Very clean, well appointed, convenient location but very private. There were 5 guys this year and we all had a comfortable bed and all the space we needed.
Nice cozy home on the pond. We enjoyed the paddle boat and location to the trails. We had a minor issue in the beginning of our stay, that was out of everyone's control but the owner and wonderful housekeeper took care of it quickly and we enjoyed the rest of stay. Would definitely stay again.
We’ve stayed previously at this location and it is peaceful and quiet. Pond is great for kids to kayak on and manageable. Home is clean and property owner is very quick with responses. Highly recommend.
It was our second year on Middle Pond and it was another awesome trip. The house has everything you could need and more. Easy check in/out. Super clean. We couldn't ask for a better place to stay and can't wait to come back next year!
Beautiful cabin, super clean and cozy. The pond was tranquil, with a great blue heron, otters, different kinds of ducks. We took out the kayaks and enjoyed a camp fire. Highly recommend.
We have stayed in this house a few times and it has never disappointed. The quiet location by the pond and the fire pit are excellent outdoor gathering places, the proximity to the trails and the Buck Rub make for a great base camp for all sorts of adventure.
The house was clean and well appointed, with everything we needed. Would definitely stay again.
Amazing stay on this beautiful pond. Watched loons as we paddled around the very quiet and calm water. The house was very clean and was well equipped with everything from quality pots and pans to plenty of watercraft! It was clear all of the little things were thought of that are often missed in other places we have vacationed at. We took a drive on moose alley twice and saw moose both times. Such a perfect stay in a really beautiful place!
Spend your days enjoying the great outdoors kayaking, fishing, and hiking and enjoy your evenings by the fire with family and friends! Location is perfect for privacy and relaxing. Property is clean. The beds are comfortable, and having the option of a king sized bed was wonderful! Middle Pond is crystal clear and had a blast watching the fish swim around under the kayaks.
My dad and I stayed here for fly fishing. The location was perfect, quiet, on a pond (pretty sure we heard a moose), close to everything outdoors and restaurants. The beds were very comfortable. We will definitely come back again!
Areas for improvement only center around the WiFi strength and I wish we realized the correct remote for the TV was the one that said dish on it a little sooner, but those are the reasons to get out into the north country anyway, to disconnect! We had a great time!
Stayed Nov 8-19 to hunt. The property was 100% as listed and very clean. Unit is of high quality and we really enjoyed our 10 nights.
All appliances worked and there were 4 TV’s with streaming… one in every room…
I’m expect to rebook next year…
The pictures don't justify the beauty of the view! From the moment you arrive,it is relaxing. We brought our fishing poles and hung out on the dock. The next day after a wonderful night's sleep due to the really comfy bed, we rented ATVS that we were able to ride right to the house. The landlord/ host Anthony was so helpful and got right back to me if I had a question. I would HIGHLY HIGHLY RECOMMEND this place
This was the perfect location to base my week of enjoying, viewing, and photographing nature! I had a minor issue with the heat not working when I first arrived, but it was quickly resolved by the caretakers who also gave me some wonderful tips on where to find wildlife. The kitchen was well stocked with utensils, dishes and pans, the hot water was plentiful and beds very comfortable. Everything was clean and the provided kayaks were well kept and fun to use! I hope to return for another stay!
Note: Verizon cell phone service was very spotty in the area and the internet service was not fast in the house, but was useable.
