Appart'hôtel Odalys City - Lyon Centre Confluence

"This seems to be student accom that has been changed to a small basic tourist apartment. One half of the building is for students (campus) and the other is for tourists. As such it is functional without much ambiance. But it’s well located close to a tramline and metro. The main train line runs next to the building which is quite ugly but doesn’t really cause too much noise. And it is easy distance to explore the centre of Lyon and the historical old town. The local restaurants are good and small supermarket nearby. The Saone river with all the restaurant boats is a few blocks away. There are also a pile of homeless people just outside the front door living under the railway bridge on both sides of the street- lots of junk, very messy and a little intimidating when they have fights amongst themselves but they caused no harm to us. So overall not a great environment but an ok apartment a as d a beautiful city."

Novotel Lyon Centre Confluence Bord de Saone

"Parking was easy at a cost. Room was great with river views. I would normally give a 5/5 however I feel the staff in the coffee shop/bar/restaurant let the hotel down. Most of the staff were very busy talking to each other and left guests waiting until they went up and had to asked for service. I thought it was just the italian way until I saw a few Italian guests go up and asked to be served. The food could be better as well. Only a small thing as the laurel is attached to a Shopping centre and there are restaurants across the bridge within walking distance."

"This is a well located hotel for central Lyon. It has a delightful reception, lounge and breakfast restaurant area. The breakfast although 16 euros is great with good choice. The staff could not be more helpful. The rooms do let this hotel down, as they are small and have been updated in a more contemporary style. The curtains are not well positioned to cover the windows and so let in a lot of light and do not provide privacy. The bathrooms are very small and some are in need of updating."

"Executive room was really spacious. Bed, pillows etc were very comfortable. Breakfast is buffet style with lots of fresh fruit, fresh bread, etc. Hot option of sausage and bacon available. As well as cook your own boiled eggs. Tea, coffee and fruit juices also available. Staff are excellent, friendly, courteous and helpful. Only disappointment is NO tea, coffee or bottled water available in the rooms. Everything else is excellent. Location is good. Ten to fifteen minutes easy stroll to the city. Public transport five minutes away Overall highly recommend."
