"This property has SO much potential! The area is gorgeous, pool wonderful (although cold bc not heated), vicinity of amenities is wonderful and Starved Rock State Park just 10 mi away is awesome... but the upkeep was awful. And, service at the Red Dog Restaurant on site was awful. Unfortunately, overgrown weeds, broken bedroom blinds, a dirty bathroom, and lack of amenities we actually used were not worth the price. We couldn't wait to get home. :("

"If Harry Never Met Sally, was a beautiful place. It was well maintained, and very clean with exception of some dust on shelves and in some cabinets, other wise it was spotless. The check in process, was easy. The staff at Heritage Harbor reached out and sent emails with amenities available so we would be ready to go when we got there. "The location and setting are wonderful! Very quiet, lots of paths to walk on, great views of river and marina, restaurant and entertainment on site. The house is comfortable and cute. Lots of towels, great bed, great shade porch out back. We would stay here again. The reason for the 4 stars:- kitchen dishes are very limited and are chipped- kitchen had no glasses (like to drink soda or water). "Good location, to go from a D to a B grade it could use new sheets, replace the cracked toilet seat, clean the blood off the front door, fix the broken board on the entrance stair, buy a replacement freezer door handle for the white Frigidaire refrigerator, put hangers in the closets and steam clean the carpets, probably can be done under $400"
