These aircraft are centralized on two bases, Kleine Brogel and Florennes. The F-16 is a multifunctional fighter plane suitable for defensive, offensive and reconnaissance missions. Thanks to the new electronic defence equipment and a far-reaching Mid Life Update program (MLU), the F-16 remains (provisionally) operational. In addition to missions in Europe and North Africa, Belgian F-16 carried out thousands of sorties in Afghanistan, Iraq and Syria.
