Elan Valley is one of my favourite places in Wales. It's really peaceful, and there's normally hardly anyone there, especially if you head up some footpaths. Ideal for stargazing too, becasue theres next to no light pollution. A rarity in the UK. #GreatOutdoors

Our first visit to the Elan Valley dams and we could not have picked a better day. If you are in Wales and love great views, wonderful driving roads and the great outdoors I highly recommend visiting and walking around the area.

It will take at least a day for a relaxed visit, walks and photographs or 3 hours with a few stops and a good drive through the valleys. The drive north to Devils bridge was excellent.
