"Great place and a great breakfast in the morning. Very talented people own this place and make you feel at home. The place is a bit of an art gallery with custom pieces, local art, and info.
Kelly appears to put her heart into making her guests feel welcome, comfortable, and well fed if that is a part of your adventure.
Plenty of parking for the amount of people that can stay there."

"We had the ocean view room on the second floor. It was newly renovated, with a beautiful private bathroom and beautiful wood work throughout. We were a bit spoiled when we were there, since there were no other guests on our floor during our stay. The kitchen and living room were spacious and well equipped, and Josh was always there to help us if we needed it. We would definitely stay here in the future"

"We loved the house and the farm setting overlooking the ocean. Josh was extremely helpful in showing us around and getting us settled. We didn't take advantage of the beautiful kitchen, but we might have done so over a longer stay. Bed and bathroom are spacious and comfortable with lots of natural light. Once we figured out how to divide our time with the cats on the veranda rocking chairs, it worked out well for them and us. "

Oceanfront Home w/Private Pool. USA Military & Fire - Repeat Guest Discount!
8/10 Good
"This home is a 10!! Beautiful views. Wonderful Hawaiian touches. The ocean sounds to wake up to daily was the best! Here is why I’m giving it a 6-7.There was no lei greeting. It was leis in the refrigerator. I understand we were late due to commute so I let that go.The drive from Hilo airport almost 2 hours- lots of traffic. Just had hoped they had alerted to a time range-30 minute to 2 hours is accurate rsnge. First the code to get in incorrect however Connie the caretaker got back to me quickly. It was sweltering humidity when we arrived-96%Opening Windows would have helped. When I emailed owner re: commute, humidity, she turned it around on me.I felt undermined. The weather is absolutely not her fault. But the way she responded was not good."
Ocean Views • Whale Watching • Sea Turtles • Sunrise Lanai • King Bed

"The house was overall good. Very clean. It was just the wife and me, so very accommodating for us; however, the living room only has a couch and one chair (seating for 4) . . . otherwise, bar stools and kitchen chairs would be needed for additional guest. The porch (lanai) area was excellent. Three ceiling fans in the living room and kitchen area but only two worked. The doorknob lock on the guess bathroom door needs fixing. If you use the guess bathroom and lock the door, the door is very difficult to unlock. It happened to me once, but after a few minutes, I was able to unlock it. The wife got locked in the bathroom and could not get it unlocked. I tried unlocking it from the outside and that didn't work. Finally, I slid a butter knife under the door, and she used it to pry back the latching mechanism and was finally able to open the door. Air conditioning only in the master bedroom makes it very comfortable at night to sleep. Beware that the ac unit's power comes from the circuit breaker that powers the bedroom. The wife used a hair dryer when the ac was on, and the circuit breaker tripped. The rest of the house can get very stuffy if there is no breeze coming off the ocean during July. The owner is very, very nice, pleasant, and communicates very well either by messaging or phone. All of the appliances work as best as we can remember. The laundry room is outside the master bed behind the garage."
"This is an out-of-the-way gem (but easy to get to). Clean, and close to shore to hear waves crashing. Host was superb! Unit was smaller than expectation. Hard to use luggage rack and move around. Not so certainly about "see whales and dolphins" - but maybe it was wrong time of year. Checking and communication with host was great (5/5)!"
Luxuriously Appointed Bali Temple Has 160 Degree Ocean Views!
8/10 Good
"Bali Temple is a great location for people interested in geology since it is mere steps away from the pāhoehoe lava flows from Kilauea's Kūpaʻianahā vent that buried Kalapana Village and and the black sand beach at Kaimū Bay in 1990, We took long walks on the lava every evening. Kalapana is an easy one hour drive to Kilauea and we were able to witness fountaining episode 51. The house itself is fine but has several minor maintenance issues typical of beach rentals. Also, we both found the three sofas uncomfortable for sitting. And there are two stools, but no comfortable chairs on the lanai which makes it difficult to enjoy the lanai."
"Amazing place in the middle of the rain forest! We really enjoyed our stay here and the hosts were very responsive. We definitely plan to come back and would recommend it to everyone wanting to experience a real life jungle, complete with neat little singing frogs and wild pigs. :)"

10/10 Excellent
"very nice and comfortable house in a quiet neighborhood. i enjoyed the wall decorations and books and helpful messages. there were all the necessary beach accessories. pahoa town was good business with market and eateries. i really enjoyed puna poke & grill, priced like any other poke but better quality and more choices. while walmart in hilo was cheaper for some things they didn't always have more choices. kta in hilo has always been a good place to shop."
OCEAN View large home close to BEACH on 3 private landscape acres.
10/10 Excellent
"Absolutely stunning property. You can see that they have been landscaping and caring for this property for 20 years. The pictures truly undersell the beauty of this location. Sue was just charming and sweet. She had my son pick a fresh pineapple and then we planted the top so it can grow into a new plant for others. One warning - you are living off the grid here. The tapwater is untreated rainwater, but they provide filtered water to drink. You have to be careful about running too many appliances at once because it’s all solar power on site. It was not a problem for us but it was some amount of mental homework. The location is gorgeous but remote. Even driving to get gas or food is 30 mins. You are in the wilderness, and this will be perfect for many travelers, but not all. The hosts live on the property in another home but left us alone other than friendly chats. That said, they are easygoing folks who seem bighearted and kind. This is their pride and joy and they love their paradise. You shouldn’t worry about them getting involved in your stay. I enjoyed our stay here, and coming from Kona it was a really different view of the island. However, my 10 year old struggled with boredom. It’s a place to chill and cook your own food and enjoy being in nature."
