"The excellent staff did all they could to make or stay as pleasant as possible. However, the rooms were outdated and a bit scruffy. We had to ask for the rugs to be vacuumed and the bathroom floor washed before we felt comfortable with the cleanliness. The major drawbacks were that the hotel is without air conditioning and some rooms are quite noisy, as they are on the street with bar and restaurants all along the street on which the hotel resides. That said, I would consider looking at it again...

"Amadeus is idéal for an overnight or budget short stay in Haarlem. The rooms are above the bar/restaurant - and mine, on the 3rd floor was quiet. Nice staff - and continental breakfast ok s included."

"Location is right in the centre so everything is within walking distance. Bus to/from airport (38 min) close by. Amiable staff. If you want a real Dutch place to stay then this is your best bet."

"Clean, spacious room in a historic building. Underground car park nearby and in the heart of a shopping area with great restaurants choices too. Perfect shopping location! And only a 20 min drive into Amsterdam airport, which makes this a great location for a flight option. Hotel staff are fantastic, and Luisa was incredible making check-in both easy and informative, including history of the building. Unfortunately no air conditioning (yet)."
