"Lovely hotel in super location- 5 minutes walk to the main squares. Right on the canal. We booked parking and given secure garage space within in the hotel. Staff were very friendly and accommodating. Beds were very comfortable. Breakfast was okay - limited choice if you got there late. Bar was a nice addition although choice of spirits were limited but staff very attentive. There is no bar available after 10pm or hotel staff - you have to take your key. Not a problem for us. Would highly recommended this hotel. "

Have stayed in hotel previously & this is first time we’ve had room facing onto street (#4) not good, can be noisy throughout night with people “partying “!! Strange that windows had no privacy screen/blind which meant choice of daylight or privacy-not ideal when shower screen beside window!!"

"We booked the belfry suite with a terrace. Looking at the pictures of the hotel from the outside, it looked very grand. We thought our room would be similar. It wasn’t. It was a modern corporate looking room with very basic furniture. There was 1 bottle of water which was complimentary between 2 of us with 2 odd size glasses to drink from. The bathroom was nothing special. A couple of interesting features were that if you went to the loo at night a dazzling bright light illuminating the whole room came on (not what you want in the middle of the night) but if you remained seated on the loo you were plunged into darkness until you moved again. Also, if the door to the toilet was shut, you couldn’t open the shower door, so if someone was using the shower and the other the loo, you were trapped until they finished. The mini bar had no price list, so I asked if it was complimentary. It wasn’t, so who would have anything they didn’t know the price of? The staff were not particularly welcoming and when we checked out, no-one asked if we had enjoyed our stay or anything at all. The hotel is in a good location within easy walking distance of shops, restaurants etc but that wouldn’t be enough to tempt us back."
