"We stayed at Evenjobb Court Farmhouse for three nights while working on a project nearby, and it couldn’t have been better. The house is fantastic, spotlessly clean, beautifully maintained, and incredibly spacious, with everything we could possibly need. The amenities were excellent and fully stocked, which made the stay really comfortable and hassle-free. The hosts were absolutely wonderful, very accommodating and excellent communicators from start to finish. We wouldn’t hesitate to book again,...

"This is an amazing hotel! The staff are wonderful and the most helpful we have ever encountered. Really go out of their way to help and make you feel welcome. I have booked our staff in for the next six weeks and I doubt our staff will want to come home! :)"

"Turned up to find our key out on a table, with our name and details where to find the room
Everyone else who was staying also had their keys laid out with names/room details. No-one available to speak to, in-person, at check-in. We were in the family room, at the back/outside of the property. Whole room smelt of grease due to the chip shop adjoining the hotel. To be fair, the hotel itselt smelt greasy. Toilets were filthy with broken seats, one of the shower trays filthy and not clean. The other shower tray had used bottles of body wash still in the shower and a pair of old socks left there, too. No hand soap, no tea/coffee sachets. Beds were hard, but may suit those who do not mind a hard matress. No matress topper used, though or protectors- just sheets- and could feel springs through matress.
Phoned the number left on a table at "arrival" and advised of issues in room
Offered another room, but explained booked family room to accommodate all persons travelling. Was told manager would be told of issues.
Come breakfast time, saw one member of staff who was pleasant enough. The layout for breakfast isn't amazing- but was enough to keep my children quiet.
We ended up going to Talgarth Mill for breakfast, in the cafe there- would recommend there, or The Strand Cafe for food.
For what we paid, was not expecting it to be posh. As a family, we are fairly laid back and not overly fussy. However, this was at the lower end of what we would normally go for/expect . "
"Stayed for 2 nights (wish was longer)
Was greeted by Hannah, very friendly. She took me to my annexe.
Beautiful spotless, cozy place. Didn't want to get out of bed every morning. Slept better than have in weeks.
Good was delicious and hot
Chicken Pate, chibbatta, salad
Hunters chicken, French fries
10oz Gammon, French fries
Chocolate Fudge Cake
Pub staff were friendly and attentive
Serve your own breakfast
Lots of choice
Met another lovely lady as I was leaving, sorry didn't get her name
A thoroughly enjoyable stay, would have liked to stay in pub bit longer, had made arrangements
Fabulous, good, staff, everything
Perfect"
"Parking is a bit of a squeeze but we did get a space although there is ample, easier parking at the library close by. We didn’t stay for breakfast so cannot comment on that.
Initial receptionist (Easter Sunday) was okay but the receptionist on Easter Monday was friendly, informative and quite lovely which Sunday reception could maybe take a leaf from.
Room was so airy, quiet and big so it was a shame to not have twin beds for our teens (who are big) and had to share a small sofa bed, in comparison mine and my husband’s bed was comfortable and big, very nice but felt a bit guilty. Luckily there was a little window area so my youngest son took over that area, pulling the net curtain to while my older son sat on the bed.
Hotel exterior is so stunning and location is absolutely fabulous. I will return."
"The hotel is lacking in cleanliness, our room had thick layers of dust on the surfaces and the inside of the wardrobe was filthy, the plug chain to the sink was in 3 pieces placed next to the tap and the bathroom door did not shut properly. The windows could all do with a clean and there were cobwebs to many of them with insects trapped so obviously had been there sometime. The bedside cabinet was broken inside.
Breakfast was laid out covered in cling film that everyone had tried to remove and we had to request knives as there were none available. We gave polite feedback to the proprietor who blamed the cleaners, she offered us some money back and advised us to phone with our details but then was not in her office when we spoke to her on 2 occasions so could not process the money offered and also lost our number so could not call us back ?
The fabric of the hotel is very nice, but it is sadly lacking in standards of hygiene and health and safety."
"Check in was quick and easy, the room was clean but there was very little space and no coat hooks or hooks for towels in bathroom.
The beds were uncomfortable (seemed old) and the single bed was very squeaky and made lots of noise every time my son moved.
The hotel is dog friendly but costs an extra £10 per night. There was very little space for our dogs bed.
The room was also very warm.
The carpet on the stairs looked like it had not been hoovered in a long time. "
Hedgehogs View - a hobbit hut that sleeps 6 guests in 3 bedrooms
10/10 Excellent
"I booked the hedgehogs view as a suprise to celebrate my husband's 50th.
I was quite apprehensive about the size as although we were only a party of 4 and a dog, we do all value our own space.
From the moment we pulled on to the drive we were amazed at the little Hobbiton village in mid Wales. There's a good amount of space inside the accommodation; nobody bumped their heads gandalf style.
Everywhere was very clean and well kept. The bathroom and kitchen were very clean and had everything we needed. I have given a 4 for comfort as the beds were quite hard (that's only my opinion). I
The views are amazing. If you get a clear night sit outside, the night sky is just as good as the day.
I was wary when I discovered the goats were free to roam. Our dog was desperate to make friends with them but they weren't so willing but hey kept themselves out the way, just happily grazing. The Highland cows and 3 calves were a happy sight
We went exploring the beautiful Elan Valley and its many picturesque dams. We went to the nearby village of Rhayader had dinner at the Crown which was lovely.
Everything was beautiful and we will definitely return."
