"Excellent place and a primo location. The places (we had two groups each staying in separate dwellings) were a slice of more authentic Japan nestled in a picturesque neighborhood.
Our only challenges related to some difficultly getting in the places and one place not being ready when we check in. They allowed for a little later check out time on the one place but felt they could have extended it to both since we were all affected by the delay. Otherwise, things got handled well and they we’re understanding when I accidentally kept one of the keys (I had to express mail it back to them). All in all, we’d go back there again!!!"
"The hotel room was a really good size, had a lot of room to place our luggage out. I loved how close it was to the train station, very walkable and convenient location! Only gripe was the AC does not work very well, it wasn't hot but defiantly wasn't cold at the max setting. There was a sign up explaining that there wasn't a designated AC per room, but rather for the whole hotel, so custom settings wouldn't work well. If you are okay with a warmer room, like during summer, I think it is perfect! But for me personally it was hard to sleep at night."
"We enjoyed our stay at the Empire Grand Hotel. The staff were wonderful and helpful, the entire hotel was immaculate. There isn’t a lot in the immediate area. We took a cab to the train, inexpensive, to get around. I highly recommend this hotel!!!"
"I stayed at this hotel expecting a simple and comfortable experience, which was mostly the case in terms of the room and overall cleanliness.
However, the breakfast experience was very disappointing. During my stay, a large group (a youth baseball team) was using the breakfast area at the same time. The space became extremely crowded, with a long line forming, making it practically impossible for other guests to access the food.
As a result, I was unable to have breakfast at all.
I understand that group bookings are important for hotels, but there should be better management or some form of limitation or time allocation to prevent this kind of situation. Otherwise, it significantly impacts the experience of other guests.
I hope the hotel can improve how they handle group guests during peak times."
