Kotohira Park Hotel
Staff was super. Location and hotel were great. Only complaint would be that the walls are a bit thin and the room next door was quite noisy until 2am.

Tougenkyo-iya Mountain Village
Ten-ippou hut was spacious, clean, and beautiful. Though we only stayed a night, it is well-eppuippdd for long stays, given you pick up groceries prior to arriving.
