OUTRIGGER Waikiki Paradise Hotel

10/10 Excellent

"Was looking for a nice recently updated hotel in Waikiki that wasn't far from the beach. Outrigger Paradise was perfect for the cost. Very clean and nice hotel. Open lobby and kind staff. We walked, uber'd, and rode the bus to our destinations and the bus stop across the street was convenient. Tons of shopping and coffee places. Target was a block away inside International Marketplace and ABC was across the street. Cool taco stand up the block for a quick bite. No coffee shop in hotel but there is one next to the taco stand and Coffee Window is a short walk. The room was in great condition and updated. and have balconies, however the 2nd floor opens to the rooftop deck overlooking the city across the street. Very nice when you want some air and walk around a little bit during the night. I received a $50 dinner credit through 3rd party reservation which was a nice treat. Recommend this hotel for your next trip."

"The staff in checking was not welcoming at all. Very dismissive which I thought was very odd for a hotel that was claiming to be luxury. Not a curated experience at all. Rooms very fine but the bathroom was very dated for that price point. Door hinges were rusting and there were water stains on the light fixtures. Was expecting a much higher end experience at that price point. Won’t be coming back"

Holiday Inn Express Waikiki by IHG

"Our stay did not work out so we had to find a last minute lodging. We relied & trusted reviews & chose Holiday Inn Express at Waikiki which we were very grateful of. PROS: 1. The lady in charge of the 15th floor did not miss cleaning our room daily. We did not need to ask. She even asked if we needed anything else. She was very nice, always present & approachable. 2. Buffet breakfast is exceptional. We were amazed with lots of people staying in this hotel & staff catered to everyone’s needs. They picked up plates & trays & cleaned tables promptly to be available for the next guests. 3. Since we were there already in Honolulu with our luggages, we were accommodated for early check in & were in our room by 12 noon. 4. Since our flight was scheduled late evening, we were allowed late check out at 1pm. They held our luggages for free while we tried to continue to visit other spots. We ended up staying in their comfortable lobby the remainder of the time until it was time to head to the airport. Lady at the front desk even lent us a key to the bathroom during our wait. CONS: 1. There were only two elevators serving our floor. One was down. There were three other elevators but serving different floors. There was a wait & elevator is mostly packed especially after breakfast. But it was okay for us. They have a lot of guests. 2. Front desk is always busy and has a long line. If assistance is needed, it would be better to be there in person and fall in line. They will gladly help."

Hyatt Regency Waikiki Beach Resort & Spa

"This hotel is very conveniently located across the street from the beach and the view from the ocean front room is fantastic. Chairs and towels are readily available to bring to the beach, which is included in the resort fee. Staff is helpful and polite. However, this is not a luxury property. The rooms are pretty basic with limited storage so pack light. There is only a buffet restaurant, for dinner which is very limited and the beach cafe which is outside dining. The beach cafe is a convenient and casual option and the food was good. One other note, the layout is confusing and you need to use escalators plus the elevator to get to your room. So, if you forgot something it's a hassle to go back to the room. Overall, it is pleasant place to stay. It's everything you need, as long as you are not expecting a 5-star experience."
