"Ruth and Herman made us feel welcome as soon as we walked in the door! This place is beautiful!! The leaves were stunning. The rooms were comfortable and had nice touches like bowls and plates. And glasses and ceramic mugs for coffee. We didn’t get to eat at the restaurant bc it was closed but if we go back we definitely will. "Staff were great! Everything was great! My tiny little pet peeve, for a nice spacious room, there’s very little surface area to set things and organize, an extra night stand would help. And, for Nova Scotia weather, a couple of coat and hat hooks would be great. That’s a quick fix. So please, do it for all your future guests. Hanging coats, hats, and scarfs, on six hangers is just not feasible. And another tip, update the lobby printer so one can easily share a file and print. Not having to log in to a personal or work email account. Other than that, loved the stay. First time in Nova Scotia. Great base to see Halifax, and the south shore sights, e.g., Peggy’s Cove, Mahone Bay, etc.."

"I booked this to save some money staying near Halifax. For the price is was great, but there were some issues. The first room I was given wasn't made up, it was still unclean - yet, housekeeping staff had left for the day. Was given a different room without issue. There were some makeup (or blood?) stains on one of my pillows, and a couple of little stains on the sheets too. Breakfast was described online as a continental breakfast but it was actually a hot breakfast (bacon / sliced ham / hash brown patties / eggs) plus toast, corn flakes and yogurt. Limited choices but it was a nice surprise because I didn't even realize breakfast was included. Plus it was offered until 10am which was great. The vibe here is sort of old B&B, with a variety of styles and oldschool wood furniture around. I found it to be great value given the prices of other properties, just don't expect slick or fancy. Room was large and had a microwave and good sized fridge in the room. Bed was comfortable. I would stay here again."
