"Needed a place to stay after a late flight into Tirana airport, and this fit the bill perfectly. Can see it from the airport exit, late check-in available and the room was spotless. We arrived late for breakfast the following morning as they were closing up, but what was available was enough to fuel us for a drive to the coast."

Best Western Premier Ark Hotel

"The airport is extremely close to the airport. It’s barely a three (3) minute walk from the arrival terminal to the reception of the hotel. No need to take taxi/cab, just take left when come out of the terminal. The property is certainly Best Western, an American chain of the hotels. Tea, 500 ml, and coffee is complimentary available in the room."

Crowne Plaza Durres by IHG

"We had such a wonderful stay at Crowne Plaza Durrës and genuinely couldn’t fault the service from the staff. Everyone was so warm, welcoming and helpful throughout our stay, but a special thank you has to go to Hergi at reception and Ankur, the restaurant manager. Both were so polite, kind and always happy to help with recommendations for local restaurants, bars and things to do, which made exploring the area so much easier. The spa was also fantastic. I had one of the best deep tissue and cellulite massages by Mary — absolutely amazing and so relaxing. As the hotel is still new, they even provided a spa coupon which was such a lovely touch. Breakfast was another highlight with a huge selection of fresh fruit, salads, cold meats and cheeses, alongside a cook-to-order menu with even more options available. We were also unexpectedly upgraded to a balcony room with a gorgeous sea view, which made the stay feel even more special. The only things missing for us were an outdoor pool or dedicated sunbathing area, and a jacuzzi/hot tub — these would make the hotel absolutely perfect. Overall, an amazing stay and we would definitely return. Thank you again to the incredible staff for making our trip so memorable."

"Honestly the nicest hotel with even better staff. They were all so attentive and made my solo trip so comfortable. The breakfast was really nice and my room was upgraded (thank you), so I had a beautiful sea view with a hot tub bath. There was enough places to lounge and the beach right next to the hotel was perfect. A lot of nice restaurants on the strip and the bus station wasn’t far if you wanted to pop to Tirana for the day. I want to say thank you to Eva, Ali, Antonella and Sara who were more than accommodating during my stay - I will be back!!!"

Sol Tropikal Durres

"My stay at Sol Tropikal was overall good, but there are a few things that could definitely be improved. The food was nice and tasty, especially the beef, pasta and panna cotta. I enjoyed most of the meals, although sometimes the food was more warm than hot. It would be better if the chefs could make sure the food stays hot enough during serving. The rooms were neat, tidy and comfortable. Housekeeping did a good job keeping everything clean throughout my stay, and the balcony area was nice to relax on. One thing I struggled with was communication with some of the staff because many of them were not able to speak English well, so I didn’t really find the staff very engaging. I was also disappointed with the water situation. I had two bottles in my room when I arrived, but nobody explained that I was supposed to keep and refill them. I assumed fresh bottles would be provided. When I asked reception for another bottle of water, I was told guests only get two bottles and that I should buy water from the lobby shop instead. Considering I paid for all inclusive, I honestly felt disappointed that they couldn’t provide one extra bottle, especially since I would have reused it for refills afterwards. Having stayed at another Melia hotel before, I personally didn’t feel this one matched the same standard. Overall the stay was okay and I would rate it 7/10."

Hotel Amfora

"This hotel is on a quieter location in golem, although this means it’s also very close to the motorway. My room faced the motorway and if I had my balcony door open it was loud however once the door was closed the noise disappeared. The room was extremely comfortable and did look like the photos on Expedia. The hotel also had a small pool and around 5 sun loungers. The pool and sun loungers were in the shade for long periods of the day but between midday and 3pm the pool got the sun (I stayed in early May). There is a buffet breakfast included in the room rate which was nice, the options are limited. Don’t expect to find English breakfast items it’s lots of salads and fruit, with coffee and juices offered. The beach is a few streets away from the holiday. Very convenient "
