"14 miles to kings canyon. Rooms small. Ie 2 twin beds had about 2 ft between them but rooms very clean and beds comfortable. Sufficient because if u r in the park, you will only be sleeping there.
Building old but well kept. Would stay again based on proximity to park and excellent restaurant attached to property.
Restaurant not fancy, but food excellent, portions huge, prices very reasonable. Nice to sit outside on stoop with other guests in the evening."
"Fun stay in a very quiet location. The cabin was fully stocked with all the necessities — linens, towels, pots, pans, utensils, a full-size refrigerator, microwave, table, board games, and a TV with streaming apps (bring your own account logins). Our kids were at Hume Lake Christian Camp, so we decided to stay in the area and even spent a day exploring Kings Canyon National Park.A pleasant surprise was the WiFi — much faster than we expected for such a remote location.I'm glad we came well-stocked with food, though. Everything is remote out here, and running to a store isn't a quick errand. My wife questioned how much we packed, but was grateful for it afterward. One heads-up: the mountain roads are winding throughout, so plan for trips to take significantly longer than the map suggests.Overall, a great location — and best of all, spotlessly clean. Highly recommend!"
"This cabin is such a hidden gem. Every amenity you would need along with historic authenticity and charm. So much nicer than staying at the park lodges. It's got a great local bar and grill right across the road and we enjoyed having a beer there after a long day. Highly recommend this cabin!"
"This was an amazing property! If I could give it ten stars, I would. The cabin is as cute as can be, fully stocked beyond my expectations with everything a family could ever need. The beds are comfortable. The whole cabin is quite spacious, yet feels cozy. The outdoor space is fantastic, with lots of wildlife, and opportunities to explore far and wide. I cannot find any fault with the whole experience. The host was especially helpful when I was struggling to get my ID uploaded in order to check in. We found the location extremely convenient for the things we wanted to do in the park. I'm looking forward to our next stay!"
Ponderosa Cabin ~ rustic comfort + WiFi by Sequoia & Kings Canyon National Parks
8/10 Good
"The host and her communications were friendly and helpful. Good directions. There was a long black hair in the tub before it was used. Kind of gross. The lamps over the main bedroom need to be replaced. They didn’t work part of the time and are too dim for reading. The dirt drive from the road to the cabin is very rough and bumpy. It could use some work. The area is super quiet and peaceful. We saw a mama and baby deer and wild turkey the first time we visited."
"The cabin was just adorable. The bed and bedding were nice and warm and we had everything we needed. It was super close to Sequoia and Kings Canyon. My husband and I had a great time.
Great communication with Melanie the host too!"
