"At the time of writing, this hotel has a 9.2 on Expedia. That is truly absurd. This hotel is old (they don’t call it “historic” for nothing) and run down (featuring peeling wallpaper, a saggy matress, threadbare carpet and a kitchen that looks like it was built in the 80s). Making things worse, there is literally not a single thing of interest in Kumara (it only exists because it is a stop on the West Coast Wilderness Trail). "Historical motel with a good description but the location is not close to the restaurant and supermarket. Good to stay for a night for a drive break on road trip."

"Room was quite musty smelling. Carpet old and in need of a deep clean at least or replacing. The sofa also old and smelly. I wouldnt want to sit on it. Kitchen fixtures also old and inside them could do with a good clean and replacement or removal of liners. "

"Hello we book for 2 days, we knew we were staying in a basic room but were never told that it was packed with children rugby players waking us up at 5 am bouncing balls continually. Let alone the toilets trashed. We had to use. Our duvet on our bed had had a dog sleep on it and definitely not washed, Top 10 (NO WAY) Very expensive for pitifully looked after"
