Along with views of the ocean and a superb location, this wonderfully decorated house features everything to have you feeling right at home. For entertainment, there are flatscreen TVs with cable, a DVD player, a selection of books and board games, and even a gaming console! There's even a desk with a monitor for your laptop if you need to stay connected.

This house is located in the desirable Nye Beach district of Newport, with beach access just a few blocks from the front door at Don Davis Park. Nearby shops, restaurants, art galleries, and boutiques are within easy walking distance. The Oregon Coast Aquarium and the Newport Bayfront are a short drive to the south; a bit further north is the incredible Yaquina Head Outstanding Natural Area and the Yaquina Head Lighthouse.

Great!

The house was perfect for us and the dogs. Everything was super clean and in good shape. There were some stains on the carpet and couch, but that is to be expected in a dog-friendly rental I think. Good communication with hosts and amazing proximity to the beach, restaurants and stores!

Frederick stay

We had a wonderful time. The house was very cozy and accommodating. The decor added to the experience. There were a few items that could have assisted in our time there: a) Downstairs tub drains slowly b) could have used more than 1 dishwasher pod ( we bought some and left them for the next renter.) c)no paper goods or zip lock bags (also bought some and left them).a list of checkout instructions would be nice. Did not get your information until we had already left. Very nice house enjoyed our stay

A gem

I would stay here again. The house was nicely equipped in the kitchen, plenty of bath towels. The only thing missing were boxes of tissues, which would’ve been nice. Other than that, the place was excellent, lots of games, puzzles, bathrooms were nice. I recommend it.

Great home, amazing location!!

This is such a nice house! It’s very updated with nice furniture, decorated nicely, and everything is fresh and new. Most vacation rentals are very outdated and dirty and everything is falling apart. I definitely appreciated the work put into this home to make it really nice. It’s pet friendly, with a yard. The yard isn’t fenced, but it’s a nice quiet neighborhood. Just a few blocks from Nye Beach and all the restaurants and shops. You can hear the ocean at night. There are homeless people wandering around and they will go through the garbage and recycling bins outside, but we felt safe. I did read some reviews saying there were ants during the summer. Thankfully that wasn’t the case in October. That would have definitely changed my feelings about the home, since I have a bit of an ant phobia. Hopefully that issue can be better addressed during the summer months. I’ve stayed in homes that had an ant problem and it just ruins the whole experience unfortunately. This was such a nice place to stay, and I would definitely stay again!

What a lovely house in a lovely area. Close to the beach and all the shops of Nye Beach. Cute ocean decor and all the household items you might need for your stay. Fit our needs perfectly.

Walk to everything

This is a perfectly situated house in Newport, easily walkable to NYE Beach and the restaurants/shops, along with the historic bayfront. We played yard games in the spacious side yard and found an EV charger just down the street (10 min walk). There is a nice outdoor picnic table as well for dining Al fresco. There is a small market with essentials about 5 mins walk and a larger Thriftway about 10 mins walk. We stayed in the upstairs room and it was quite comfortable. Fans provided for the warmer days but otherwise just open the windows for a refreshing sea breeze.

Awesome near the beach

We really loved our stay at the Pampered Puffin. You can walk to the beach in 5-7 minutes and to good places to eat in the same. Highly recommend it.

Great location

The place fit our family’s needs. Loved the location- walk to the beach or coffee shop. Could see the ocean out of the living room window and actually saw a whale blowing.

Great Stay! A couple things that might bother other people in the full review.

The things we noticed were not a big deal for us, but may be for other people. (1) The spare door key lock was set to the code used by us. Meaning that if someone were to walk by and look at the code on one lock, they would have succeeded in entering the house by trying it on the other one. (2) Board games on the shelf are missing so many pieces that they are unplayable, luckily we brought our own games. (3) Verified that the DVD player in the living room would not work. It opens, but either the DVD remote or receiver is broken, as we took out the batteries used on the volume remote that worked to test with the DVD remote. Many fun DVDs for use in the living room were not able to be played. (4) The connected kitchen/main bedroom Bathroom sink was almost totally plugged and drained very slowly. (5) One of the days in the middle of our stay, right after 7am, the smoke detectors went off, two long beeps the first time, and then a few minutes later it repeated the two long beeps two or three more times. Not sure if the power went out or what, perhaps it means the batteries are getting toward the low end? We had a great time and aren't complaining at all, just offering a little constructive criticism and clarity for potential customers.

Fabulous week on the coast

This property was the cleanest place we’ve ever rented. It was comfy and big enough for the five adults. Great kitchen! I cannot express how pleased we were with the experience.

Great stay at Newport

Pros: 2 blocks from the beach, there’s a bathroom just at the beach access. Large playground for little ones. House is clean, as it shows on the website. Kitchen well stocked and regular amenities and pantry items. Cons: dishes were wet sitting in the cupboard, pan had dried egg still in it. Bunk upstairs are 2 full size beds, for kids it works well, doesn’t really work for adults. No accessible closet or drawers for clothes in one of the upstairs bedroom, so you have to live out of your suitcase. Just some things that are minor, but noticeable, overall a great stay!
