"We had a warm welcome from the owner, and the apartment we stayed in was a good size, with a separate bedroom and living/kitchen area. The apartment is above a garage (separate to the rest of the hostel) and below the owners living area. "I stayed for six nights and had a wonderful experience. The staff was excellent—everyone was professional, friendly, and welcoming. The location is very good, although you should be prepared to walk up and down some hills in Ávila. The breakfast was also excellent. If breakfast is included in your rate, you can order items from the menu in addition to the buffet, which was a great benefit. The restaurant staff were also very kind, professional, and friendly. Overall, I had a great stay and would definitely recommend this hotel."

"Las Cancelas was a perfect stay for us. Basically next to the Ávila Cathedral and (probably) the only hotel with its own small parking lot. Maybe a new a/c for the room will be a good idea. We know the weather was particularly hot during our stay, but it definitely needs a new unit."

"It’s a small family hotel very close to Saint Teresa’s natal home church. Wish they had coffee cafe available early with perhaps a machine. Even though limited staff, Norma was very helpful and a sweetheart. On the negative side, there are no close restaurants or shops but the walk into the busier plazas was not bad at all and it was an easy walk to out the walls Lienzo Norte. Will definitely stay there again. Thank you to the owner 👏!!!"
