Inn at the Falls

"We were in room 101 which is the "pent house" sort of. It is in the old part of the Inn and the room was quirky in a nice way but might not suit everybody. Sixteen steps to the unit, nice wide staircase. The unit itself is on two levels. The first level has a nice big sitting area and access to to a smallish but adequate balcony with a nice view of the Muskoka river. The stairs to the second level where the bedroom and bathroom are located are another 16 steps up a rather narrow steep and angled staircase. This might not suit everybody, particularly if you are inclined towards larger luggage!! The bedroom has a neat octagonal shape and there is a hall to the bathroom which is smallish enough to likely be uncomfortable for oversized persons. The restaurant offers great food at reasonable prices and the patio is beautiful with a view over the Muskoka river. Bracebridge is well located within the Muskoka district and the hotel is well located within Bracebridge. Breakfast is modest at best, definitely continental. We would certainly return as the front desk ladies were awesome and very helpful and maintain excellent communications whenever and wherever you are during the day. I am 80 but am blessed with excellent health and vitality as is my wife so the stairs were not an issue but many acquaintances would have had a problem."

"Beautiful property. We had a lake view room and it was spectacular. It was clean and roomy with a nice outside sitting area. The amenities at the resort are excellent. We swam and canoed, and had a couples massage. All was excellent."

Touchstone Resort

"Great location on a quiet cove on muskoka lake. We stayed at a beachfront cottage. Waterview and steps away from the lake. The ambience was amazing. Watersports (kyaks, paddle boards, canoes) were readily available for use. Suite came with a full size kitchen and gas bbq which allowed us to really maximize our time onsite, though being 10 mins outside of Bracebridge was also covenient for a coffee or dinner out. Beach front was clean and cared for daily. Facility was new, modern and clean. Staff were helpful and courteous. Downside was the pool and hotel by the beach were out of order... had been for weeks, with zero notice leading up to check in. The lake was great but had I known I probably would not have booked at the price I did. There is a pool at the main building but it's a 10 min walk uphill, so not convenient. We also had a couple issues with TVs and appliances. Microwave did not work.. not the end of the world but it meant popcorn was off the table for a movie at night when the bugs come out. TV was missing a remote and the sound kept cutting out on the TV in the living room. Movie nights were a bit of a bust. Overall .. great spot, clean and nice staff however for the price and given the age of the resort I wasn't expecting some of these issues to be present."
