"Ka’ana Resort was one of the absolute highlights of our trip to San Ignacio. The moment we arrived, the staff made us feel like VIPs who accidentally wandered into luxury. The property is stunning. Lush gardens, peaceful paths, and a pool that practically begs you to forget whatever plans you had for the day. Our room was spotless and incredibly comfortable. I’m still not sure how the bed was that soft, but I’ve accepted that my mattress at home will never live up to it. The food and drinks were amazing too. Every meal felt like something we should have taken pictures of but ate too quickly. What impressed us most was the service. Every single person we met was warm, attentive, and seemed genuinely happy we were there. It’s rare to stay somewhere that feels this personal and still completely effortless. Ka’ana is the perfect home base for all the adventures around San Ignacio, but also the kind of place where you seriously consider cancelling your plans and just staying by the pool with a cocktail. We would absolutely stay here again and recommend it to anyone thinking about visiting. "

"The Sleeping Giant is a real gem and in itself a reason to head to Belize and spend a week at this beautiful resort south of Belmopan. The grounds and the interior design of the cottages and the house we rented are the best I’ve enjoyed in many years of travel and the staff is A plus. "The resort itself is located about 30min away from the hustle and bustle of San Ignacio and its situated right along the Macal River which made for perfect water sounds in the mornings and at night. You’ll hear birds chirping, and it’s just so peaceful. The staff can organize rides for you to go anywhere you like, and the food at the restaurant is amazing! "

"What an amazing hotel & room. This is one of our favorites of all time. We stayed for 3 nights Food: Every meal was fantastic as we ate breakfasts and dinners at the hotel. The fry jacks at breakfast were superb. The prices were reasonable for the meal we ate. The selection changed at each meal. Even our picky eater was very happy. Highly recommend the cheese tasting which you will need to reserve in advance. We lucked out and were able to join due to a cancellation. Staff: Very helpful and super friendly. Superb service. We got the feeling that the staff wants the hotel to succeed and is concerned about each detail. Room: We stayed in the Luxury suite. The view from the balcony was stunning. We were one of the highest rooms. There were a lot of steps to get to the rooms up top(~136 of them), but totally worth it if you can do it. The 'outdoor' shower was a great experience. The room had two showers; the outdoor one overlooking the jungle was something. The room was very clean and well-stocked, including water. Make sure you have a flashlight or a phone with a light for walking around at night. Tours: We booked the ATM(caves) and Mayan ruins tours through the hotel. The tour guides were very knowledgeable and fun. The ATM caves were the highlight of the trip. As long as you keep active and don't have serious knee or back issues, this was a truly unique and memorable experience. The artifacts were left untouched(other than a few mishaps with tourists)."
