The Black Pearl! The most luxurious private OVER WATER BUNGALOW on Bora Bora!

"I think staying in an overwater bungalow is an absolute MUST for Bora Bora, and there's no better way than with The Black Pearl. Much more affordable than the resorts and you have the entire place to yourself with a great part of the island right in front of you. A VERY well stocked kitchen allowed us to cook many great meals (and BBQ'd Tuna!) and tasty blended cocktails without ever leaving the water.The home has everything you need. Solid AC washing machine dishwasher, a spacious amount of room for clothes, a kayak to explore on your own, an unreal view, and a very helpful guide to the island who you can book tours through.Unlike many vacation rentals, Richard's space feels lived in and like you're at your own home. There is charm and comfort in every detail. The only downside is that eventually you do have to checkout..."

"Don’t hesitate, book this place now. We weren’t sure since they had just opened a few days before we arrived and did not see any reviews yet. Yes, every room is an overwater bungalow ( not clear on their listing), for 1/3rd of the price of most bungalows in Bora Bora. Snorkel off your back deck. Helpful staff, awesome breakfast, they pick you up and drop you off in Vaitape where the ferry takes you to the airport. Also, the shuttle will take you to the beach about 12 minutes away, or into Vaitape for dinner. They even let us late check out on the last day. Very accommodating. We’ll be back."

"We had a wonderful stay! The location is perfect and very convenient, with everything you need close by. The staff were incredibly friendly and welcoming, which made our stay even more enjoyable. The bungalows are basic, but they have everything you need for a comfortable and relaxing stay. We especially loved how private and peaceful it felt. The property is very close to the local markets and just a short distance from beautiful Matira Beach. There are also some lovely restaurants nearby, which was very convenient. Overall, a great place to stay if you’re looking for a relaxed, private, and convenient base to explore the area. We would happily stay here again!"

"What an incredibly unique, memorable stay in Bora Bora. If you want to avoid the crazy costs of an overwater bungalow but you still want a magical stay at a more affordable price, this is the place. My wife and I booked the Garden Villa Suite for four nights and loved it. The property owners are so accommodating and friendly (rides to/from numerous places including pick-up at the village port, always checking on us, able to book excursions for you, provided us with a complimentary bottle of rum as a welcome gift, etc.). The villa itself is the ultimate blend of indoor/outdoor living, with covered kitchen and bathroom/shower areas outdoors and your overside bedroom and sitting room indoors with a super cold AC unit. Had use of property bicycles, which we used one day to pedal the entire loop of the main island (almost 3 hours but a pretty easy, mostly flat road) and another day to go to the public beach on the south side of the island very near the property. The property/room decor, photos on walls, and prideful touches are like a time capsule to past centuries of navigators and explorers across the South Pacific and other parts of the world. There is a steep walk up a hill to reach the property from the main road if you're not driving or receiving a ride, but we were fine with the moderate exercise and didn't find it too difficult. There are also pesky mosquitos which you'd expect on any island -- a small price to pay for a stay we'll remember. Would definitely return."
