"Lovely hidden gem, staff were all very nice . Afternoon tea was great value for money with great selection of food (alcohol optional) Walk into town only 10 mins away (could be doing with better signs to find your way back) Lodge with hot tub - amazing - clean property could be doing with a little TLC but didn’t not spoil the experience."

"Very good indeed once you realise that you have to do a large detour around the adjacent pub to get in. The presence of a portable fan in the room and the fact that you can't open the window more than a tiny bit may indicate that it could get unbearably hot in the summer. Weather was cold and wet during my stay."

"A beautiful property with stunning grounds. Roaring fire to welcome you. Inviting lounges and quaint bar with rustic features and lovely decor. Our gorgeous room featured an exceptionally comfortable extra-large bed, with high-quality linen and towels, and thoughtful luxury touches throughout. The dog-friendly amenities, included a fluffy bed, a chew and paw towel all of which were appreciated, and our ground-floor room offered direct garden access. The brasserie restaurant on the grounds had a very good menu choice and the food there was excellent and hotel breakfast was also superb. All of the staff provided excellent service throughout our stay. A lovely hotel we would happily return, highly recommended!"
