"Dusty walls; many, many marks and stains on floor, walls, and woodwork. Parking in front of rooms full of cigarette butts and small trash. Price was cheap but definitely not worth the bargain. Needs extensive deep cleaning and repainting."

"Front desk staff was great. Friendly, helpful, and efficient. Parking was easy. The room was clean and comfortable. Air conditioning worked great. Only drawback was the pool didnt appear to be maintained to the same standard.
Breakfast was much more than we expected. Bacon, eggs, waffles, a selection of cereals, yogurt, juices in addition to sweet rolls, coffee, tea and hot chocolate."
"The floors were dirty in the way that you couldn’t see dirt, but if you walked barefoot you could feel it was gritty and it made our feet dirty. One evening we looked out the window and a man was just outside changing the filter on the water filtration system. It was getting dark and it was alarming to see a strange man in the yard. There were cameras in the carport and on the back of the house that could presumably see through the windows of the house. This felt like a major lack of privacy. The beach down the road had signs that said ‘locals only’ which felt hostile. We were strictly instructed not to step to the right of the driveway which is the exact property line because the neighbors would be upset. This felt uncomfortable. We had a nice time on our trip and made use of the kayaks but the rack holding the kayaks was unstable and fell over when my husband took the kayaks down to use."
"The house is so charming and is in a very peaceful area. The house itself could use some care for paint and outside power wash. Opening the blinds lots of cobwebs outside in the windows. Kitchen is very well stocked with everything you need to cook and eat with. The house inside was decently clean, however we found several cobwebs hanging from lights and in corners. We love that the house was pet friendly and lots of room for our lab to run around outside. Also would have liked some citronella candles so we could have sat outside in the evening."
Private sand beach on Chesapeake Bay--Great for Kids--Sunrise/Sunset Views
10/10 Excellent
"Such a gem! Spent a weekend away from the hustle here with a good book, groceries to test out a few new recipes, and instant camera in tow. We were greeted with fresh flowers (picked from the yard), and so many lovely hydrangea bushes in bloom, somewhat jealous mine aren’t blooming like that yet. We watched a storm blow through and were greeted by the infamous jellyfish. Spent most of our non-sun time on the fully screened wrap around porch. All of the beach/water paraphernalia you could need (towels, toys, and emergency backup bug spray/itch relief and sunscreen) was available. I especially appreciated the charging station for all the different types of devices. The kitchen (and its grumpy fridge) had the pots/pans/measuring cups/hand mixer and more to be able to easily prep all our meals. Pack your swim suit or two or three and explore-if you want the water/beach, but prefer a less populated location then this might be the place for you to enjoy the hypnotic lapping of waves on the beach."
"Dramatic property with unique private beach. If you want an untraditional beach vacation this is the spot. Close enough to activities yet truly a world of its own!"
"This quaint beach cottage has a 5 star expansive waterfront view of the Chesapeake Bay with an idyllic sandy shallow beach to access & splash around in. The house is cozy, cute, eclectic, and one of a kind. It's a quintessential beach cottage wit all the basic necessities. My wife and I saw lots of Eastern Blue Birds, Herons, eagles and other species. We had a wonderful beach hike at the nearby Hughlett Point Natural Area Preserve. Lots of restaurants, art galleries & shopping in the nearby town of Kilmarnock. Windmill Point & Marina had a fun sandy beach, tiki-bar and fishing pier."
