"Aristieta is located in a beautiful, quiet, bucolic area of Kanpantxu, near Gernika. It is part of an organic farmstead operated by Alex and his wife, the hosts. Their home and farmhouse has been lovingly restored by their family and friends and is a unique property in every sense of the word. "This is a small town hotel. Free parking is on the city street. Finding a spot might pose a small problem. The town is very walkable. We visited to admire the cliffs along the town shoreline. The rock beds (called flysh) were deposited horizontally on the deep sea floor 50-65 million years ago, but now stand vertically resulting from Spain 'colliding' into France to build the Pyrenees. As geologists, we consider the cliffs are truly spectacular. A highlight of our travels."
