"Second time we have stayed at the Clifton hotel both times have been a pleasurable stay we booked a room with a wonderful sea view , the room was clean & tidy with a large walk in shower , parking was a breeze using the hotel car park the staff were friendly & helpful we would definitely recommend this hotel A++++"

"This was the perfect place to call home for the week we stayed and explored Yorkshire. Excellent food, perfect location, cozy. The staff were lovely. AND, it was Alf Wight’s (James Herriott’s) favorite spot in Thirsk. We couldn’t have liked it better!"

"Although dated and in need of modernisation, this place was clean with everything you need. Checking in and accessing the room key was quick and easy. The room was large, bathroom was clean, bedding was clean. Tv worked. plenty of hot water."
