"We stayed 3 nights. We liked that it was directly in front of beach. Nice free breakfast. Salt water pool was so nice. The staff were great. They always checked in to ensure guests were happy and had what they needed. My bad for not thinking that it is in the jungle. We saw a snake at the pool (little and not a threat), resident howler monkeys woke us at 5 am every morning (again part of nature) and sloths!! Dining options around hotel are limited however you can take a tuktuk into puerto Viejo for more dining options. "

"This was one of the most beautiful places I have stayed at. Grounds were well maintained and very lush. Staff was very helpful and always willing to go out of their way to make sure you had what you needed. Amazing place and we cannot wait to return. We happened to be there at the same time one of the owners was also there.... Incredible man and you can tell he was a true businessman who cared about his staff, business, very personable and also wanted to make sure we had everything we needed. Greeted every guest and made the time to make you feel comfortable and special. I am so glad we found this hotel on Hotels.com. "

David was also very friendly and full of good advice. Also Brady and Cindy. The gardens all around were beautiful. The restaurant was delicious. "This is a very peaceful hotel with a nice pool and beautiful landscaping. The town and main road can be overwhelmingly loud and busy at times, so it was great to have a little oasis of calm just outside the main centre. The room was comfortable and well appointed and all three breakfast options were tasty. "

Personable and authentic staff; sleep in the jungle and get to view everything (sloths, monkeys, etc) others pay guides to see; footsteps from a stunning beach, this is a truly an all in one Costa Rica experience. But as the website notes, this is for those that want a more raw experience, so don’t expect the hottest showers or finest linens. But you are very well taken care of and staff are very responsive. They’ll provide the inside scoop on trusted contacts for excursions. If you want to help support local, book now. Andrea prepares a home cooked breakfast each morning with locally sourced food items (cacao, eggs, coffee even the peanut butter is from local farmers) and has all the connections you could need for building a holiday you’ll never forget.
