It was an amazing experience. Right from cleanliness, service , staff , toiletries, food including the Front Office. Very nicely and tastefully designed property.
Hotel is very nice. It has good location and great views. It has place to sit or walk around with scenery all around. Staff is excellent. Food is good although a bit expensive. The water is hot but have to keep taps open for cold water to drain and this causes wastage of water. The hotel rooms are good and spacious. There are nice places eg. Poolside and in park facing mountains- to sit with family and eat food.
Had booked The Himalayan on a friends advise and I must say it was an amazing, out of the world stay for 4 nights . Just as in the pictures it gives a real feel of staying in a castle . The rooms were quite big and beds most comfortable. Of course the view from the windows of the snow capped mountains and Manali town below was just too good to be true. The property with beautiful gardens, a pool & cottages around it made us feel so relaxed and we felt bad when our stay was about to end. The persons at the reception were most polite and helpful to all our queries about how and where to visit around Manali. Every evening they had a map for us with all places marked out for our visits the next day. Of course I must mention the breakfast spread and few meals we had for dinner, just amazing. We will definitely come back & stay here again for our next visit. Thank you The Himalayan for making our holidays special.

Beautiful property. Good location.
I was travelling with my sister and mother and we booked two rooms which had an interconnected door as well. The property is beautiful. It’s like staying in a castle! The staff is very well mannered and hospitable and always have a smile and greet you kindly. The food is home-style and less restaurant-feel. I did feel as though the chef can do better given the price point of the food.
The rooms were cosy and do require some upkeep however, the rustic feel of the whole property makes it worthwhile. The hotel is about 1.5 kms from the Mall Road so be prepared for the hike! There is ample parking at the hotel unlike other properties in that crowded area. The view from our room was spectacular! That was the highlight for me. We had ‘Run of the House’ rooms on the second floor.
The property is beautiful and quiet. It is perched above the town, with grand views of the mountain peaks and the valley below. The grounds are lush, scenic, and clean. The architecture of the buildings is superb. There is a trail from the property, through the orchards, that you can use to walk into town and is a great alternative to walking on the road. Also fairly easy to catch autos from the gate or nearby Hadimba temple. There’s a great Italian restaurant next door.
We had a two bedroom cottage, with a kitchen and dining room. It was very nice, as we had 2 children with us. The beds are very comfortable. The breakfasts by the pool were amazingly good. We usually had lunch in town and dinners at the hotel. The food is delicious, and the menu has a lot of variety. The quality of the service is also very good. The staff is friendly, attentive, professional, and accommodating. I would highly recommend this hotel. I would easily stay here again.

I gave a 5 star review to this hotel during my first visit in Nov 2019 and the staff was super friendly. But January 2021 visit was a total different experience. The staff was non friendly this time, I wanted to extend the stay and informed the manager but he had NO courtesy to revert back with any status. Finally, I booked another hotel and stayed there. I only like this hotel for its location and beautiful cottages.
We chose The Himalayan based on the user ratings and recommendations. Honest feedback, don't travel to this Hotel with family. To begin with we checked in by 2 pm but our rooms weren't ready, the equipments ( Gyeser, Microwave, Heater(AC)) were disfunt. Room service, front office is least bothered given that they have realised their money. After prolonged delay, finally we were given another room ~ 8 pm evening by then the family had already given up and my little kid was tired to core. At every touch point - Restaurant service, front office, house keeping each of the departments don't understand basic customer service and they treatment is obnoxious. I strongly recommend if you are planning a stay with family best to avoid this place. It's more of a bag packers place.
Stayed there for 4 days in mid Dec 2019. Hotel is very well maintained, and staff are friendly and very polite. GM Mr Vivek Thakur provided great personalised service and attention. We got an upgrade to a lovely 2BR cottage as we arrived early and our Family Room was not ready. The weather was very cold, below zero on some days - staff were very obliging, providing additional heating pillar in each room upon our request (no built-in heating in the cottage).
Excellent service standards.
Be careful of what you eat though if you're not from India - some of us had upset stomachs after having cold yogurt and salads.

It is a heritage and boutique type property.
It is a Heritage or boutique property so someone who prefer radisson would never like this kind of property and rooms.
It is expensive for no reason.
After a lot of research, I finally zeroed in on The Himalayan for my family vacation. For reference, I usually stay in hotels of the likes of JW Marriott, Westin, Conrad etc but couldn't find anything in similar category in Manali. I can say with confidence if your choice of hotels are similar to mine you won't be that disappointed with your stay at The Himalayan. The service is top notch. It's away from the bustle of the main market and the peaceful experience was precisely what we were looking for. The view of the snow clad Mountains from the hotel is a very soothing experience. Room service starts at 7.30 am and ends at 10.30 pm, so anyone looking for 24 hours service would be a little disappointed. It was a non issue for us. Overall a wonderful experience, would definitely stay here again if I visit Manali.
It was amazing! The sceneries and views are so beautiful. The facilities are awesome with superb service and comfort. The breakfast is really delicious with a good mix of western and Indian. The staffs are all polite and ready to help. Service was prompt and professional. We were able to play pool at the Dungeon upon request for a small fee. We could see snow at the tip of the mountain while having breakfast by the pool side during summer. Overall, it was a really memorable and satisfying experience staying there.
very bad experience, staff very uneducated, no facility, no staff have idea to help and facility as in website, all lies. I would never recommend it. I had the worst experience this year in a hotel . staff have no idea what to do or help, have just one answer tomorrow speak with hotel gm. we have no idea. worst hotel
Amazing hotel with all the amenities and the view is so amazing just blissful, can imagine how beautiful it will look during snowfall. The view from the top of the hotel is just amazing, they have smartly named the deck as Crowns Palace, the food is also very good, staff is very pleasing nothing to complain about. We were to head to Rohtang and Mr. Vivek guided us tightly on the tight time to start for the sightseeing. Beautiful location, waiting to see if we can make it again during snowfall.
the hotel from outside and inside looks perfect like a medieval fortress. Very clean and comfortable. The staff speaks good English. The room well furnished. The breakfast sutisfied. Very recommended. Hadimba temple in 6-7 minutes leisure walk and apart of it nothing to see in the close area. The hotel has very lovely garden
We stayed at the Himalayan 4 nights.
The hotel is nicely located in new Manali but is also very close to old Manali, and still far from the noisy town center, and therefore very peaceful.
As a 4 persons family we ordered 2 double rooms but they surprised us and upgraded to a beautiful cottage overlooking a breathtaking view, where we could stay the 4 of us together very comfortably.
Breakfast was excellent, very tasty, diverse and generous, much better than we experienced in other hotels in India.
The staff was extraordinary kind, helpful and responded immediately and willingly to any request.
The manager, Mr.Vivek Thakur, was so nice and helped us beyond we could expect in touring and shopping information.
