"The recent extreme heatwave began to peak as we arrived in Mulhouse. We were incredibly thankful for the hotel’s air conditioning. In the evening, I became terribly sick and spent most of the night with a migraine. The next morning, as we were preparing to check out, I went down to reception to let them know that I’d tried to clean up the bathroom as much as possible after vomitting. The receptionist recognised the tell-tale signs of migraine and began asking all of her colleagues if they had any Panadol or other medication. When none turned up, she filled a bag with ice and let me get some coffee from the breakfast bar, even though we hadn’t paid for breakfast. She was also very helpful in telling me in detail how to exit the parking garage.
Two things, though, need to be pointed out to the traveller. First, this Ibis is literally next door to an Ibis which, I’m assuming, costs a bit more. Initially, I thought that was where I was staying and left my luggage in its storage room when I arrived hours before check-in. Second, the parking is in the train station car park, and it is a bit tricky to find because it requires making a sort of giant U around the back of the station. Call beforehand or email a staff member for specific details, because there isn’t really a place to pull over and run inside to ask."
