"Rooms were very clean, host was great,kitchen was clean and well stocked. The outside deck was kind of weathered but the gas grill was big and worked. A bit far out of town,5 miles to the lake. But it served its purpose."

"The Guest House in Carthage is your basic 1960’s Motel that has been renovated with updated interiors and a good kiss of maintenance on the outside. Everything was clean. Nothing was particularly special, but it was what I needed near the end of a long motorcycle journey. The gentleman who checked me in was professional, kind, and polite, even lending me his carport to protect my bike from the elements and provide a modicum of security. I would definitely stay there again and recommend it to a friend as an inexpensive place to lay their head for the night."

One-of-a-Kind Container Home on Mount Vernon Farm!

"We loved the stay. The hot tub, the opportunity to visit the chilly clear river and the upper deck view of the elderberry farm were all excellent. It was perfect for 2, even with the slower internet. I would add some non slip tape to the indoor stairs, but overall perfect. We were even visited by the 2 very friendly “guard” dogs who were way more lovable than fierce. Elderfarms store was just a bonus. Be back soon."
