The Cottage of Color awaits you in a tranquil setting on a 40 acre farm where you can rest, relax and enjoy the majestic beauty of the mountains just outside the front door. Also tour Asheville, Biltmore Estate, Hendersonville, Black Mountain, and experience all the activities and scenery Western North Carolina has to offer. Cook lunch in the newly renovated kitchen, swing in the hammock on the back porch, watch the fireflies light up the pastures, or simply enjoy the wifi and cable included in your stay.
Pamper yourself in the privacy of this fully furnished 2 bedroom, 1 bath cottage with one level living space of 1000 sq. foot. Top of the line king and queen beds await you wrapped in fine linens. Feel free to throw something on the BBQ grill, take advantage of your fully equipped kitchen for those home cooked meals or take a 10 minute drive to the area's many restaurants. Your kitchen includes a refrigerator with ice maker, electric cook-top with oven, dishwasher, microwave, Keurig coffee pot, toaster, blender and all the cooking utensils you will need to complete your meals.
When the weather gets a chill, feel free to turn on the gas fireplace and warm your feet. Bring those bikes and ride the adjacent road for peaceful easy riding. The kids will enjoy the large yard, and possibly the chance to pet the resident goats and cows. Come out early in the morning, or late in the evening, and grab a chance to bottle feed one of the many farm animals being raised next door. Feel free to have us be your one stop shop. We can have your fridge full of all you require for your trip upon arrival. Should you need a babysitter, we have licensed sitters available for hire through a local nanny exchange. Maybe it's a special occasion--We are here to make it memorable. No request is too large or small. We look forward to being your cottage to visit, and make memories for years to come.

Beautiful Countryside

If you are looking for rolling hills off a winding road, quiet (except for a few farm animal sounds), and a beautiful night sky, this cozy, clean, well equipped cottage is for you.

Beautiful views

Great stay at this little cottage. We stayed with my daughter and 2 of her friends and our 2 dogs. Very clean house and a great place to rest at night after all our adventures in the surrounding mountains. Very close to Asheville for some fantastic dinner options. We will be going back.

Our Second Stay

This cottage is a great getaway when you need some R&R. Very peaceful location and great views, very clean and comfortable accommodations, and just a short drive to Biltmore, West Asheville, and lots of wonderful outdoor activities. This is one of our favorite places to stay and we will definitely be back! Thank you , April!!

Dog- cation

Darling cottage and very dog friendly. Quiet road beside the property where we could play with the puppy. The owners had a book outlining the best hikes in NC for dogs that we well used. Good location and great for a pandemic get away. Wish we were still there since we returned to 96 degrees and a hurricane coming!

Tranqulity

The Cottage of Color was immaculate. The view from the outdoor deck was very relaxing. The cottage is only twenty minutes from Asheville. We choose it because it was unique from the numerous cabins in the area. Having access to the farm animals was an added plus!

Cozy and Clean, Great Views

The house was clean and neat with a stocked kitchen, luxury bathroom, comfortable furniture, and nice linens. Recently remodeled and landscaped. Near the road but we never heard the very few vehicles that passed. The deck is nice for relaxing and enjoying the view. We really enjoyed our stay here and highly recommend it for a short getaway or longer stay.

Go see for yourself!

This house is beautiful. Yes, there’s only one bathroom so I wouldn’t go with a large group of people. However, this was the perfect spot for our honeymoon. You sit on the porch and there’s quiet. The views are amazing. The interior is extremely well done and the house was very clean. It’s a great place.

We have rented a few times outside the Asheville area and this by far was our favorite location. April goes above and beyond to make sure your stay is perfect. She is quick to respond to any communication and incredibly sweet. The property itself is breathtaking. The perfect place to get away and relax. If you have little ones the farm animals are a must visit. We took day trips into Asheville, Weaverville, and Henderson. The cabins location made for an easy and quick drive into any activity you may want to partake. We hope to be back for a visit to the Cottage of Color again.

Experience Asheville

My husband, daughter and I came for a Christmas getaway and tour of the Biltmore and the Asheville area. This is a small place but nicely decorated and has everything you need. It was a little weird to be away for Christmas and we probably won’t do it again, but the tour of the Biltmore at Christmas was magical. The rest of the area is very nice and so unusually warm that we were really able to walk and explore downtown. We also were able to spend a lot of time on the nice deck at this home, which is quite spacious and comfortable - very unusual for late Dec! It’s always fun to check out a new city with the comforts of home.

Wonderful stay on the farm!

We loved our stay at the farm! The house was absolutely beautiful with the perfect combination of modern touches with a rustic vibe - exactly what we wanted. The setting was gorgeous, perched high up on a hill with a view of mountains in the distance. Dinner on the deck was great, although the proximity to the road detracted slightly from the peaceful quality. We loved the cows - especially our three year old daughter. We said hi to them every morning and even got to pet them a bit. We also loved Asheville, but the drive into town was a little farther than we would've liked. April was a great host, texting me back quickly to respond to my questions about the house. If you're considering a vacation in the country with the things to do nearby, I'd highly recommend a stay on the farm!
