I had reserved a non-smoking room for my two employees. Once they checked in, they realized they had been booked into a smoking room that reeked of cigarettes. Employee #1 left to the gas station, as Employee #2 went to the front desk and politely asked to be moved to a non-smoking room.
Employee #1 returned to find the room empty, not realizing they had been moved already. As he is coming out of the room, the front desk agent immediately accused him of “trying to double dip” and threatened to charge them for two rooms, saying he needed to inspect the room to “make sure you didn’t mess anything up.”
All of Lebanon was booked up for the weekend, we didn’t have any alternative options, so we stuck it out. After the first two nights I called to extend the room for one additional night. The man who answered the phone sleepily said “We’re closed, call in the morning.” When I called in the morning, the front desk agent told me they were having the entire hotel’s floors cleaned that day, and they couldn’t extend the room.
Rooms were available to book on Expedia, my employees said many other cars were still in the parking lot, etc. Only after contacting Expedia was the front desk agent magically able to reschedule the cleaning (it was almost 11am and the supposed cleaning people weren’t even there yet).
Overall, the room was fairly clean, but there were cigarette butts on the ground everywhere outside, and, as outlined above, the staff were incredibly rude and unaccommodating.
