We arrived soaking wet and didn't get a friendly welcome from the receptionist . She just told us our rooms were in the cottages near the entrance and handed over the keys sayig all informaion was in our rooms.. No warmth at all... We found our rooms to be groundfloor quite nice and beds were comfortable.. ...

Quite superb Grade 1 Listed Medieval Hall House, truly exceptional, hardly a right angle, level floor or vertical wall anywhere, expertly restored. Outstandingly well-provided and comfortable. The hotel was exactly as described in photos. Clean, classy and very good value for money. We couldn’t hear any guests within property. Shower was powerful and nice and bathroom was clean.
