The Danna Langkawi - A Member of Small Luxury Hotels of the World
10/10 Excellent
"The Danna is a small(ish) hotel that trades on its beachfront location and luxurious rooms. We were very happy there during our five night stay. Each of the three restaurants offers decent food and generous portions. The pool area is comfortable, although some maintenance may be required soon. All the staff are lovely. It’s a fine place either to do nothing or to go birdwatching or kayaking. Given the quality of the product the price is more than reasonable. My only criticism is that there needs to be a separate pool area for kids - otherwise the adults who just want to relax will find their day disrupted."
"Fabulous place to stay. The staff were all fantastic, welcoming, polite and helpful.
Housekeeping did a great job keeping the amenities topped up and the room was always spotless after they had been.
The Spa service was excellent.
All the facilities were great. The beach is very nice.
We were lucky to get some nice weather in the rainy season which certainly helped the experience.
Breakfast was very good with an excellent variety to choose from.
We tried all the restaurants and the food was excellent."
"The sea view was great and definitely one of the highlights of the stay.
However, there were a few things to take note of. The power points on the balcony didn’t work, so we had to check around the apartment to find out which ones were working.
No toothbrushes were provided initially. They only provided them after we requested, so it’s better to bring your own toiletries.
For food, I would recommend grabbing food from outside as it’s much cheaper. Only one restaurant at the resort was open during our stay, and the prices were quite expensive. There are some shops outside, but the choices are limited. There are also 24/7 shops nearby, which are convenient for emergency purchases.
Breakfast was fair—not too bad, but nothing special.
Room cleaning could also be improved. The cleaning was quite basic, and the restroom wasn’t properly cleaned. Also, do check whether the balcony has been cleaned, as ours wasn’t cleaned until we specifically asked them to do it.
One good thing is that Parade Mall is right beside the resort. It has a supermarket, money changers, and baby shops, which was very convenient for us."
"Great hotel, very quirky and modern. Nice rooms, comfortable bed, great shower with nice toiletries.
Lots of choices for breakfast.
Staff are very friendly.
Mellyn was so lovely.
Enjoyed our stay
