"Clean, friendly, great location "

"The Holiday Inn Express is halfway between town and the mountain. The free bus system stops about every 20 minutes so it is relatively easy to navigate, although the route is not always direct, particularly to downtown. There isn’t much within walking distance, so the bus or car is necessary. Breakfast was a nice touch and I appreciated that both hot and cold items were available—more variety of fresh fruits and vegetables would be great. Staff was friendly but don’t expect concierge service. It is great to have a hot tub, even an indoor one. It would be nice to have more ski lodge ambiance, both indoor and outdoor gathering spaces. Overall this is a well kept hotel and a good value for a ski trip."

"I always try to stay here for work trips because this hotel is beautiful, the staff is great and the restaurant makes great food."

"The Western Lodge was in a great location. Walking distance to everything downtown. The staff was incredibly friendly and made check in a breeze. For the price, the value, cleanliness, and room was exactly what we needed for a quick trip to Steamboat. We would stay here again!"

"Great location and place to stay. Parking is free. Good amenities. Breakfast would have been nice as an option. No vault or phone in room and daily room cleaning service in the room wasn’t included. (You could ask for towel, trash removal and extras) Thank you!"

"An improvement would be to do snow removal. None was done while I stayed there during a storm. Snow piled up, and you had to walk and drive through the snow. Also, the refrigerator in my room did not work, and the smell that came out when you opened it was terrible."

"The only pros about the Evergreen is its location - 15 minutes distance Vail Village and 10 from Lionshead. Everything else about this hotel is terrible. It's old and rundown - doesn't look like it's been touched since 1977. If you want to do Vail on the cheap and only go to your room to sleep, this is your place"
