Not only is Hokitika is a lovely little town to visit and stay. There are plenty of walks in the area and a small drive away is Hokitika Gorge. It is a lovely, little walk around this amazing turquoise gorge. There's a fun suspension bridge and plenty of birdlife around making it a rather magical experience. Go early and have the place to yourself! #Trovember

Travelling by car gives you the most freedom. This is the case anywhere, but in New Zealand you definitely need a car to explore the most beautiful, remote landscapes. It gives you the freedom to get up at 5 in the morning (like we did here) and witness the mist clearing from the valleys. #Blue Travel Photo Contest
