"Maybe for the younger traveler to Newcastle Co Down the Enniskeen Hotel would not be described as a perfect destination. However, for the older clientele it has a charm all of its own and therein lies the old building's appeal. We had room 15 for 4 nights and enjoyed how peaceful the room was with terrific views over the surrounding countryside, distant Mourne Mountains and the sea too.
The breakfast was spot on and exactly what you needed to start the day.
Thank you to all the staff we met and who did their utmost (without going OTT) to make our stay as relaxing as it was.
The walk down to the River Shimna was enthralling too with unusual trees to take in on your winding route down to the riverbank."
