the room was clean and the staff was kind and the only thing good about the whole place was the staff.
there are no ocean views. this is a 15 minute walk to any ocean.
the room was the most depressing place i'd ever been. in order to turn on the lights for half of the room you had to listen to the fan in the sad dark bathroom. the water didn't work half of the time and shir dirty brown water into the shower or sink. the AC was so incredibly loud i had to unplug it. the street, the only road into Key West, was incredibly busy and loud at all hours making the tiny balcony mostly unusable and the room a torture chamber of listing to garbage trucks and scooters and drunk adults in golf carts all day long. which kind of doesn't matter, the balcony was so small the door runs into the chairs on it.
in fact the entire place was as depressing as a hospital. tile floors, ugly walls. ugly cheap decor.
still more expensive than a night at a lovely hotel in nyc or san francisco.
and don't get me started on the revolting breakfast! a nice person will make you an omelette...with american cheese or meat i wouldn't feed a dog or some vegetables that were probably chopped up in rhode island six months ago and then frozen. yuck. the yougurt was some sort of chemicals with milk as the fourth or tenth ingredient after modified food starch...but if you're really hungry they do have fruit loops. :/ the coffee was drinkable and there was cold water.
