"The location is nice, but not worth the high price, the space is too small for cooking a meal and there is not table to sit, so it’s a glorified hotel sweet. They will be watching and if you have one extra person to visit you will receive a threat of getting removed from the property. I live in Chicago and come back to the area to spend time with my nieces and nephews, it was a bummer I had to drop one off just to be able to spend time with there others. I would only recommend this spot for...

"staff was very friendly, facilites were very clean"

The Artist's Secret Garden

8/10 Good

"Easy to find and check in. The apartment was historic, and the art was beautiful. The place was clean, felt like home immediately, was well maintained, and kitchen and bathroom amenities were bountiful. Internet wifi was fast (I had to upload large video files and did so quickly). I appreciated the communication prior to check in, and the written instructions and local tips in the host's guide book. Downtown was a quick 8 minute walk and very safe for female traveling alone. There are several great options for eating and shopping in the downtown area, including vegetarian food at the Mexican restaurant and Ethiopian lunch at the conference hall. The only complaint was the sound of a child running and jumping upstairs after 8:00 PM, which I would have expected if I had known a family with young children lived upstairs in the old house with wood floors. However, if one is used to that, it is a perfect stay!"

"Everything was clean and set up for our arrival. The house had everything we could have needed if we had forgotten something. Beds were firm, which we loved, and comfortable! If we ever come back down this way we would definitely stay again!"

"Deda is an excellent host. She made sure to check in with our group to make sure we had everything and was very responsive to all questions. Beds are very comfortable. The animals were so entertaining (we gave them nicknames) and the location is excellent."

10/10 Excellent

"The house was wonderful! It was much better than the listing or pictures shown!! Very roomy, spacious and comfortable! Nice neighborhood and a backyard that was so quiet and peaceful. Backyard over looks Amish Family and their garden. We enjoyed watching them work in the garden and watching the horse and the chickens. The house had everything we needed! It was a 2 bedroom but the closet in the master is HUGE and is open to bedroom with no door on it. So you could put an air mattress, playpen or what you needed in there for another sleep area. There was enough seating at the two kitchen tables for minimum of 10. We would DEFINITELY stay there again! It was spotless clean too. Very much enjoyed it"
