"I booked the Spruce Room, which has extremely dated pictures online. There have been years of use when you actually view the place. The kitchen has stains and marked up tiles, bathroom is barely clean with black mold in the back of toilet. All 4 of our beds had dirty linens and since there is no on-site manager, they had us raid the emergency shed and hopefully retrieve extra sheets. These sheets were all unusable. "Jay Mountain Retreat is a hidden gem. It is a large property surrounded by wilderness offering a relaxing getaway with all the modern amenities. While we were there in winter, for the World Cup at Mt. Van Hoevenberg, it would be fabulous in any season for hiking, fishing or just enjoying nature. The owner was very responsive to our questions, and made sure the driveway was plowed in a timely fashion. "View was amazing & the space was great!There were A LOT of spider webs & some spiders, inside. It's so easy to clean those up & spray for them, so could be a simple fix. If not for that, I would have given it 5 stars."
