It's NAIDOC Week and thought we would celebrate with a walk to see some amazing Aboriginal Art work which is standing the test of time. I have copied the following information from the National Parks website to provide you with accurate information. The photos are my own. smile emoticon I recommend a visit to this special place. BULGANDRY. "Bulgandry Aboriginal art site in Brisbane Water National Park is a special landscape, rich in ancient Aboriginal rock art of the Guringai People. There’s a wide range of well-preserved engravings to see; most of them are more than 200 years old with many perhaps ten times that age. The name Bulgandry belongs to the large engraving of a man thought to represent an ancestral hero, depicted with an impressive headdress. You’ll also see wallabies, fish, a dolphin and what’s thought to be a canoe and a bird. Keep walking to see some stone tool sharpening grooves nearby, or simply take in the site’s beautiful bush surroundings. Indigenous sites such as Bulgandry provide valuable insight into Aboriginal traditions, past lifestyles and previous interactions with the environment. A 'private' little oasis. Not so private. It is a small little beach along the waterfront as you walk from the ferry down to the picnic areas and boat ramp. I call it my own little private beach where I find my 'peaceful' spot to stop and have my lunch during my working days. The waterfront is a quiet idyllic spot to rest and have a bite to eat. The first stop on the train line into the Central Coast. It is surrounded by the water with amazing shared walking/bike path for both the locals and visitors to enjoy. A great little spot to put a line in the water and try your luck at catching a fish.
