"We really enjoyed our stay at Ettalong Beach Tourist Resort. The resort is beautiful, with a lovely design and atmosphere. Our room was very comfortable and a good size for three people. We especially loved the balcony, which made the room feel very pleasant, and the air conditioning worked very well.
One disappointment was the lack of a general lift. The only lift seemed to be for guests with accessibility needs. I completely understand the need for an accessible lift, but having at least one lift for general guests would be helpful, especially for people arriving with luggage.
The pool was also extremely cold and basically unusable. We had been warned it was cold, but it was much colder than expected, and several children were visibly shivering. The spa was not working either and was also very cold. Interestingly, the ocean was much warmer that same day.
We loved the Galleria downstairs. There is a great variety of restaurants, cafés and interesting shops, and we spent most of a rainy day there without getting bored. However, many shops closed around 2–3 pm.
We were also very surprised that on Monday morning absolutely everything in the Galleria was closed, including restaurants, cafés, the bakery, ice cream shop and shops. Reception told us most venues close during weekdays and mainly open on weekends. This wasn’t clear on the website and would be important information for guests, especially families visiting during school holidays.
