"It was great experience staying at this place. Right after we went to gala Yuzawa ski came back to the hotel and dipped ourselves into the large Ofuro in the basement. Smoking was not allowed inside or well outside the house so it was the only problem me and my friends faced during the stay but all in all we enjoyed our stay at the place. Place is warm and cozy. Recommend for friends and family or in groups over 5 people. "

"Hotel is okay from a room/cleaniness. Check-in was a problem with both hotels.com and the actual check-in. Hotels.com doesn't handle international travel well as they didn't put in that the room we chose was double occupancy. It's not in our receipt which is telling me that it probably got lost in the email to the hotel. It's in the app but apparently that wasn't relayed to the hotel. When we checked in, the reception said it was for single occupancy although we paid the double rate already...

"It’s hard to say what the most important thing is for a hotel stay. Is it 1) the property and room, 2) the food or 3) the staff? Well, it doesn’t matter with this property cause you’re winning on all 3. Quiet location at the end of summer/beginning of autumn, room size was good, room was clean, bed was fairly comfortable, bedding was great (the best pillows of the 8 hotels I’ve stayed in Japan). "I was so glad that i booked this hotel. The location is so convenient. We were able to walk from Minakami station the hotel in 15 mins. They offer drop off at Jomo-Kogen station on the check out day. The front desk ladies are super nice and friendly. They did their best help me, answered my questions. Specially Urada (not sure if i spell it correctly)- She looks like a non-Japanese. She always smile when she see us and tried all her best to answer all my questions about food to skin cares. I think she is the one has better English than the others. The manager should give her a raise. The room is so clean and look new. We stayed 2 nights and enjoyed every minute there. The food was good and a lot. We even skipped lunch, because the Japanese style breakfast was a lot. The hotel is close/walking distance to Family Mart and cute small coffee shops, handmade bread store. I tried the massage at the hotel. They come to your room. It was so relaxing. The room view was so nice. We sat outside balcony deep our feet in the tub and enjoyed the yellow/red leaves and listen to the water run "

"It's a small lovely hotel. The staffs are nice but they dont speak much English. If you need pick up at train station, call them ahead. They dont answer emails or dont often check messages thru 3rd party. We booked thru Expedia, sent multiple messages, waited for 2 months, no responded. Luckily my cousin was in Tokyo for 3 months of work and she called the hotel for me. Many thanks to the driver. He waited for us at train station very late at night. The food was very good. The room are very clean and cozy. Private onsen was a plus. My husband who doesnt like to do onsen by himself, at this hotel he can do onsen with me. The view of yellow leaves from the out door onsen was super beautiful"
