"Everything about the hotel was amazing. From the room layout and appearance to the bar and staff. I will definitely be staying here again the next time I come to Japan."

"Our goal for our trip to Japan was to hike Mount Fuji, but one of the unexpected highlights was our stay at the Kappo Ryokan Uoichi! Post-hike, we moved from Tokyo to Osaka with a stop at the Ryokan in Shimada. Two families (eight of us) stayed at Kappo Ryokan Uoichi and had a wonderful time. The building is a 150-year-old restaurant, and the stay included a shared bedroom with eight futon beds, an adjacent family room, a private bathroom, and a shared onsen. "Absolutely beautiful house, plenty of space with a beautiful garden and large kitchen. I loved the smell of the aged wood, very cozy and even has an air conditioner. The owners are very nice, they speak good English and make you feel welcomed. They have two adorable and friendly cats that will come visit you.
I highly suggest this house, you won’t be disappointed. "

"This Ryokan was absolutely perfect. Train station literally across the street. Quiet area and the property itself was spectacular. Rooms were spacious, food was delicious. Also, onsen near the lake was peaceful. I would highly recommend staying here."

"Eher für ältere Reisende oder Familien ausgelegt. Der Onsen/Wellnessbereich war sehr schön. Der Wasserpark hatte geschlossen. Dieser Öffnet nur im Sommer. Davon wussten wir nichts und im Internet war das auch nicht direkt ersichtlich.
Die Lage ist unvorteilhaft, wenn man kein Auto hat."

"The room was spacious and clean. Furnishings are dated. There is no elevator security, so anyone can travel the elevators. Breakfast buffet was decent. We stayed 3 nights. We came for the musical instrument museum ."
"The hotel is in a great location. Across from the station. My room had a very distant view of Mt. Fuji. Bed was old and could use an upgrade. Breakfast had a good variety and the staff were helpful "
