"The location was great for getting into downtown Edinburgh by bus. Very Easy pick up and drop off out front. Parking can be an issue. Limited space on property but then you can pay to park in zoo parking lot, or keep moving your car as spots open up. Inquire more for parking. Also please be aware there are no wash cloths in Scotland or Ireland. Not even at a Holiday Inn. We went and bought one at a beauty/pharmacy store."

Apex Waterloo Place Hotel

"Though we only stayed one night the Apex Waterloo was a delight. We arrived in the early afternoon, way before check-in but we were upgraded to a two story accommodation that was available immediately (for which we were grateful after a long flight)! We were surprised to find air conditioning. Most hotels in Scotland do not have it and the summer days can get quite warm. The hotel location is perfect for sightseeing, shopping, and dining. We enjoyed cocktails in the lounge after our day of sightseeing and breakfast was wonderful. The hotel stored our luggage while we toured the castle and unfortunately, we did not have time to enjoy the pool or spa but we will definitely return! Thank you!"

"I had a lovely stay…we stayed in a Period Room…very spacious and beautiful …breakfast was wonderful and dinner was too….decor suited the hotel perfectly…staff were lovely"

"We were in a private superior double bed room on the fourth floor for five days. Unfortunately, the elevator only went to the third floor, but staff were very helpful getting our luggage to the room. The room is kinda small for two people with a lot of luggage. The bathroom shower was awesome! There was limited housekeeping and had to be requested. Clean towels and coffee pods ran out after the third day but after requesting more, they were delivered. The bar and dining area were nice. The menu was limited, but there are so many wonderful restaurants nearby to satisfy dining expectations! Bella Italia was a wonderful option."

"Beautiful hotel in an extremely convenient location to the train station (Waverly) and to the main downtown area. Top floor check in and champagne bar was also very beautiful and it is a nice touch to get a free glass of champagne (or non-alc bev) when you check in, and there were a lot of free drinks and snacks in the room. Only downside is that in the evening, we had significant trouble with slow wifi that made it very difficult to stream movies/shows."
