"Our room was quiet, clean, and had lovely shampoo, conditioner, bath & body wash, and skin cream in the room. It was convenient to walk to Waverley station, the tram and bus stops, New Town, and Old Town. The staff was so helpful and kind to keep our luggage before check in and following check out. I would stay here again."

"Great service. Lovely hotel. Area round our room was in the process of being decorated so didn't look very nice (room 62). Also bathroom was rather mouldy. Plates at breakfast we're cold and scrambled egg was awful but food in the Brasserie was very good. Overall a good stay."

"It required a lot of steps to access the front desk and the breakfast area. While the outside ramp was useful for the front desk, it was no help with the breakfast area. (My wife has a bad hip and needs a cane.) The location was excellent and Grassmarket Park was lovely."

"I stayed two nights in the double wee room. It is not that wee after all - surprisingly generous with the space, in fact, with a large double bed (composed of two half-mattresses). The hotel defines the center (one sees the Burns monument in front) and is quite pretty in an old-school, Britannia kind of way (with Scottish green tones as the main color). Extremely quiet (non-view room), all amenities working as intended (tea / coffee / choco maker in room; tv, old-school phone; iron & board etc.). Perhaps a wider partition in the shower would ensure less spillage. Shower with movable head (good pressure & temp controls). Breakfast is prettily presented with basic options: full English, sandwich, fruit and some interesting health-juices. Decent hours (to 10/10:30 am). Otherwise restaurant with a 20% discount coupon found in your room. Staff friendly and efficient. Rooms cleaned daily, without having to ask. I will definitely return."

"Easy checkin . Hotel is beautiful with tons of amenities in hotel. Had room with view of Edinburgh Castle which was beautiful ! Spacious room- breakfast was amazing with both hot and cold options. We had a car and paid minimal fee for parking. Hotel located in heart of downtown Edinburgh"
